Chiaotzu offsets a body far below the group’s standard with mental abilities nobody else has: telekinesis, opponent locking, paralysis at range. In a story that prizes impact, he represents the other route.
His death against Nappa is one of the saga’s few calculated sacrifices: he chooses a deliberate detonation, knowing it has little chance of being enough.
