A fighter who became the story’s only responsible adult
Biography
Daughter of the master of Fire Mountain, Chi-Chi is a trained fighter who enters the tournament before choosing another life. Her position in the story is thankless but coherent: she is the only one arguing that the children should be studying rather than dying.
The series often treats her as a comic obstacle, when her objections are reasonable. Her record is a good reading test: it separates what the story praises from what it shows.
